About The Position
Medical Assistants are essential members of the clinic team. They contribute to patient care by assisting with exams and procedures, organizing and managing patient flow, and taking on other responsibilities based on the needs of the department. This is a PRN position at Moffitt Cancer Center.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certification or registration from one of the following: American Association of Medical Assistants (CMA), American Medical Technologist (RMA), National Center for Competency Testing (NCMA), National Health Career Association (CCMA), or National Association for Health Professionals (NRCMA).
- A current Moffitt Medical Assistant must obtain certification from one of the listed organizations within one year of the transfer date.
- In lieu of CMA certification, applicants may have successfully completed a Medical Assistant training program, completed applicable military medical training, or be actively enrolled in a BSN program after completing nursing fundamentals and provide proof of enrollment at the beginning of every semester.
Responsibilities

- Perform other responsibilities based on the needs of the department.
