About The Position

Performs basic nursing skills and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician, advanced practice professional, and/or registered nursing staff. The role supports patient visits by gathering initial information and vital signs, preparing exam rooms, assisting with examinations and procedures, coordinating appointments and referrals, and helping patients understand follow-up expectations. The position also maintains quality control records and medical equipment and assists patients with medical documentation.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant.
• Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
• Ability to adapt to changing environments.
• Ability to use and learn software applications.
• Ability to organize and prioritize work.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.
• Ability to bend, stoop, reach, rotate normally, stand, and walk during an 8–12 hour shift.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program.
• One year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Greets and escorts patients to exam rooms and prepares for provider visits by obtaining initial information and vital signs.
• Prepares exam rooms, ensuring cleanliness and supplies are available.
• Assists with and/or performs exams, tests, and procedures.
• Schedules appointments and arranges referral contacts as needed.
• Assists providers during patient examinations and procedures.
• Educates patients about follow-up expectations.
• Maintains required quality control testing logs.
• Ensures medical equipment is in proper working condition.
• Assists patients with completing medical documentation.
