About The Position
Baptist Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join its Baptist Infectious Disease team at the Howard Building in Downtown Jacksonville, Florida. This is a full-time position with a scheduled shift of 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. The role performs back-office medical assistant duties in an infectious disease practice, supporting providers and helping deliver efficient, quality patient care. An up to $1,000 sign-on bonus is available.
Requirements
- At least 2 years of patient care experience.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Certified Medical Assistant credential.
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in a physician’s office.
- Associate of Arts or Associate of Science degree.
Responsibilities
- Provide medical assistance to physicians and other healthcare providers.
- Room patients and obtain vital signs.
- Perform patient triage and assist with assessing patient needs.
- Provide bedside assistance and wrap wounds as needed.
- Greet and chaperone patients during medical visits.
- Maintain accurate and complete medical documentation.
- Schedule patient care, treatments, and diagnostic tests as directed by the physician.
- Process prescription requests and referrals.
- Support daily clinical operations to ensure efficient patient flow and quality patient care.
