About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) provides patient care under the supervision of a medical provider. The role supports clinical and administrative functions, including assisting with medical procedures, maintaining exam rooms, managing patient intake, and helping ensure efficient clinic operations while delivering excellent patient service.

The position is based at MountainView Orthopedics. The clinic’s hours of operation are Monday through Thursday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. A $2,000 sign-on bonus is available with a one-year commitment to the role. Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. for an employer; immigration sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Requirements

• 0–1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of an externship program.
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA)-AAMA certification or National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA)-NCTT certification.
• Basic Life Support (BCLS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), American Red Cross (ARC), or American Safety and Health Institute (ASHI).
• Knowledge of medical office procedures and patient care techniques.
• Proficiency in medical record systems and basic computer applications, such as Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Understanding of medical terminology and infection control practices.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent patient service.
• Time management and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.
• Critical thinking skills to analyze and resolve clinical and administrative challenges.
• Ability to perform care according to age-specific competencies.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. for an employer; immigration sponsorship is not available now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Assist providers with clinical procedures, including taking vital signs, wound care, suture removal, injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, urine tests, EKGs, and applying splints or completing other specialty-specific tasks.
• Prepare and clean exam rooms for patient visits and clinical procedures.
• Perform patient intake duties, including reporting test results, phone triage, and documenting medical information as directed by licensed personnel or providers.
• Review and maintain daily logs and documentation.
• Support administrative duties, including pre-registering patients, scheduling appointments, coordinating referrals, verifying insurance eligibility, and managing clinic communications.
• Maintain an organized workload and provide prompt, courteous, and efficient service to providers, patients, and visitors.
• Monitor and requisition clinic supplies and equipment to maintain appropriate inventory levels and functionality.
• Educate patients on medications, diets, and other health-related topics, and address questions to ensure understanding.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
