About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant works in a walk-in clinic and performs clinical and administrative tasks alongside providers to support patient care and smooth clinic operations. The role is the first point of patient care in the clinic and includes rooming and preparing patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures. The assistant measures and documents patient vital signs and provides other patient care as needed for the clinic. The role also includes completing patient care documentation, such as medical histories and referral requests, and assisting teammates and providers with day-to-day operations as needed. Location: 1996 Walden Dr., Gaylord, Michigan. Schedule: PRN, 0–40 hours weekly. Office hours are 9:00 AM–7:00 PM; weekend hours are 9:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Requirements

Credentialed as a Medical Assistant through an approved Munson Healthcare Credentialing Organization.
BLS certification must be obtained within 90 days of hire and maintained.
Employees must be vaccinated or have lab-confirmed immunity for measles, mumps, rubella, and varicella.
Employees must receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.

Nice To Haves

High school graduate or GED equivalent is preferred.
BLS certification is preferred.
Experience in phlebotomy is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Room and prepare patients according to clinic-specific checklists or procedures.
Measure patient weight, height, oxygen saturation, respiration, temperature, pulse, and blood pressure using manual and automatic methods, as applicable.
Provide other patient care that may vary by clinic.
Complete required patient care documentation, including medical histories and referral requests.
Assist with day-to-day clinic operations and support teammates and providers as needed.
