Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) is required (documentation is requested during application prior to interview)
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology and basic pharmacology
- EMR experience preferred; AthenaHealth ideal
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office tools
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license
- Strong customer service orientation and communication skills
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
Nice To Haves
- Primary care or outpatient clinic experience strongly preferred
- Experience with team-based care models
- Care coordination or case management experience preferred
- Experience with adult and geriatric patients preferred
Responsibilities
- Rooming patients
- Obtaining medical history
- Vitals
- Administering injections / immunizations
- Performing phlebotomy and specimen collection
- Conducting EKGs
- Point-of-care testing
- Assisting with minor in-office procedures
- Performing wound care / dressing changes
- Administering medications per provider protocol and standing orders
- Coordinating referrals / follow-up
- Supporting chronic disease management
- Assisting with prior authorizations
- Partnering with the extended care team to close care gaps and improve patient outcomes
