About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant I is a dual-role Patient Service Representative and Certified Medical Assistant position supporting both front-office patient access and routine clinical care. The role is a key point of contact throughout the patient visit, welcoming and processing patients professionally while assisting providers and licensed clinical staff with vital signs, basic testing, injections, electronic medical record documentation, and other patient-care support. This is an on-site, patient-facing position. Regular in-office presence is essential for direct interaction with patients and caregivers, real-time collaboration with providers and staff, and secure handling of protected health information. The employee is expected to perform both PSR and CMA responsibilities; the time devoted to each may vary according to clinic workflow, staffing, patient volume, provider schedules, and direction from the Site Coordinator or Nurse Manager. The employee must maintain competency and readiness in both areas regardless of daily assignment. The role normally takes place in an interior clinical or office environment with a usually moderate noise level and low risk of exposure to bloodborne pathogens and other potentially infectious materials. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a one-hour lunch. Slight schedule modifications may be made with Site Coordinator approval, and overtime may be required as needed. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
