This position is vital in the health care delivery system. This is traditionally the patient’s first clinical point of contact so patient relationship, management of patient care, management of patient information, team communication, and demonstration of conduct and activities using patient centered medical home principles, policies and procedures is critical. Always supports the vision and the mission of the Clinic. The CMA will conduct pre-planning and prepping patient charts (entering orders needed), record patient data (ex, vitals, screenings), perform medication reconciliation, administer medication as directed by provider (oral, subcutaneously, or intramuscular), administer vaccinations, preform procedures (EKGs, breathing treatments, ear lavages, etc.), and educating patients. The CMA may have to float to a different department if needed. Laboratory Support-Performs patient testing and reporting as assigned and preforms laboratory tests as described in the lab manual. Performs routine waive tests with accuracy and precision under minimal to no supervision. Maintains adequate stock levels. Runs controls, monitors QC Data, and preforms, documents, and assures proficiency tests are submitted. Keeps all lab records on file and assists in laboratory inspection preparedness. Maintains instruments following manufactures recommendation. Documents accurately maintenance on action logs.
