About The Position
A professional, multi-skilled person dedicated to assisting in all aspects of medical practice, including administrative and clinical procedures, under the direct supervision and responsibility of a licensed physician. The role requires travel to provide support to associated clinics.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Graduate of an approved Medical Assistant program.
- Ability to communicate orally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize work and handle multiple tasks.
- Knowledge of ambulatory health care or related health care fields.
- Skilled in conflict resolution.
- Ability to use computers.
- Must obtain Medical Assistant certification within six months of hire or transfer into the position.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from the American Heart Association.
Nice To Haves
- One year of Medical Assistant experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Room patients and take vital signs.
- Chart patient information.
- Provide front-office and administrative support.
- Assist providers with procedures.
- Answer patient calls.
- Assist with surgery scheduling.
- Complete insurance verifications and prior authorizations.
