About The Position

The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will deliver care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process. This role involves scheduling patients for diagnostic testing and ensuring completion, documenting patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record as directed by the provider. The CMA will communicate with patients regarding test results and plan of care via phone or mail as directed by the physician. The position also includes performing general patient care by following established standards and procedures, greeting and preparing patients for the healthcare provider, and obtaining and recording vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration, height, weight, drug allergies, current medications, and presenting problem). Additional duties may be assigned by the Nurse Manager, more senior staff, or healthcare provider(s). Requirements

High School Diploma or equivalent (required)
CMA - Current Medical Assistant Certification (required)
Basic computer skills using medical management application systems
Effectively communicate with staff and patients
Thorough knowledge of the meaning and use of medical terminology and abbreviations
Demonstrates sound judgement in emergency situations
Takes appropriate action in urgent circumstances
Maintains a positive, customer-focused attitude toward staff and patients
Possess a strong work ethic and always display a high level of professionalism

Nice To Haves

New Grads Welcome with Completed Onsite Externship
1 year Medical Assistant experience (preferred)
Cardiology experience (preferred)
ACLS or BCLS (preferred)

Responsibilities
