The Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) will deliver care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process. This role performs general patient care by following established standards and procedures, greeting and preparing patients for the healthcare provider. The CMA will obtain and record vital signs, administer ordered medications and/or vaccines, and may be required to draw and collect blood samples and perform routine tests such as EKG. The position involves scheduling patients for diagnostic testing, documenting patient plans of care, and communicating with patients regarding test results. Responsibilities also include preparing, cleaning, and sterilizing instruments, maintaining equipment, and keeping patient exam rooms stocked, clean, and orderly. The CMA will escalate non-routine issues and ensure safety checklists are completed. This role may also involve front office duties and other tasks as assigned.
