About The Position

Saint Vincent Medical Group - Outpatient Orthopedics is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to assist the physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office. The role involves maintaining efficient patient flow, assisting with patient care such as exams, procedures, and patient education under physician supervision. Responsibilities include performing triage, monitoring and recording patient vitals, ensuring accurate medical documentation of office visits, and potentially assisting with office and scheduling coordination in the absence of the coordinator. A $3,000 sign-on bonus is offered for new hires.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED
Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program OR three years of relevant work experience in lieu of completion of an accredited Medical Assisting Program
Medical Assistant Certification required through one of the following: National Healthcare Association (NHA), American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA), Registered Medical Assistant by the American Medical Technologist (AMT), National Center for Competency Training (NCCT), the American Registry of Medical Assistants (ARMA), or Healthcare Professional Registry of the US (HPRUS) (Will allow 90 days to obtain certification)
Current Basic Life Support (BLS)
Medical Assistant diploma from an accredited school OR three years of relevant work experience in a healthcare setting in lieu of Medical Assistant diploma

Responsibilities

Assist physician with the daily operations of the physician’s office
Maintains efficient patient flow and assists with patient care, i.e. exams, procedures and patient education under the direction and supervision of a physician
Performs triage, monitors and records vitals of all visiting patients
Perform EKG and Phlebotomy, as applicable
Ensures medical documentation of office visits
Ensures that all contacts with patients, the public, physicians and other personnel are carried out in a friendly, courteous, helpful and considerate manner
