The Endoscopy unit provides comprehensive care to more than 7,000 patients annually. Its mission is to deliver high-quality, compassionate inpatient and outpatient endoscopic care, develop and evaluate new endoscopic technologies and procedures, and serve as a primary training site for gastroenterology fellows and surgical residents. The facility performs a full range of routine and advanced GI services. Although the CMA position with our Endoscopy team is primarily administrative in nature, candidates must have prior clinical CMA experience to effectively support patients and providers. Our CMAs must be fluent with medical terminology as they perform the pre-calls for procedures and patient education. They must also be comfortable with a high call volume and transporting patients within the hospital. Scheduling requirements: Full time CMAs are required to work five 8 hour shifts per week. The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician.
