The UPHSM Bariatric Surgery offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative, multidisciplinary environment that treats every case with clinical excellence and heart. This role provides direct and individualized care to clinic patients, performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection, monitors and communicates changes in patient condition, documents patient care, maintains equipment and medical supplies, and performs administrative or clerical duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) license required.
• Basic Life Support Health Care Provider (BLS-HCP) certification required.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Nice To Haves

• 1 year of related experience preferred.
• 1 year of clinic experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct and individualized care to clinic patients.
• Performs basic diagnostic procedures and specimen collection.
• Monitors and communicates changes in patient condition.
• Documents patient care given.
• Maintains equipment and medical supplies, including reordering, stocking, cleaning and troubleshooting.
• Maintains examination areas.
• Performs administrative or clerical duties an assigned, including filing, reception, scheduling, data entry, and patient registration.
