About The Position

Glendive Medical Center is seeking a compassionate and organized Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to join our Surgery and Outpatient Infusion team. In this role, you'll provide both clinical and administrative support, helping ensure patients receive exceptional care before, during, and after their treatments and procedures. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with surgeons, providers, nurses, infusion staff, and patients in a fast-paced, patient-centered environment.

Requirements

  • CMA Credential issued by the AAMA
  • Current BLS certification
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Excellent organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a busy healthcare setting
  • Commitment to patient confidentiality and safety
  • Collaborative approach to working with providers and healthcare teams

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in a medical office, clinic, infusion center, or surgical setting
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and electronic health records (EHRs)

Responsibilities

  • Prepare patients for surgical and infusion appointments by obtaining vital signs, height, weight, and other clinical information
  • Escort patients to treatment areas while providing excellent customer service and support
  • Conduct post-procedure follow-up calls and document patient information in the electronic health record
  • Assist with scheduling and coordinating infusion treatments, chemotherapy services, and follow-up appointments
  • Verify provider orders and ensure required documentation is complete prior to scheduled treatments
  • Maintain patient care areas and ensure supplies are stocked and readily available
  • Serve as a point of communication between patients, providers, and healthcare team members
  • Register patients and maintain accurate demographic and insurance information
  • Verify insurance coverage and authorization requirements
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate referrals
  • Answer incoming calls and assist patients with questions or requests
  • Support departmental workflows to promote a positive patient experience
  • Clean and prepare patient treatment areas between visits
  • Maintain infection prevention and safety standards
  • Organize supplies and treatment spaces
  • Assist with regulatory and compliance requirements
  • Support overall department efficiency and patient satisfaction
