About The Position
Under the direction of a licensed medical provider, the Medical Assistant assists in the examination and treatment of patients, ensuring high-quality patient care and efficient clinical operations.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required
- Successful completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) Certification required
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) required
Nice To Haves
- One (1) year of clinical experience strongly preferred
Responsibilities
- Perform patient interviews and obtain relevant health information
- Prepare patients for provider care and examinations
- Measure vital signs; observe, report, and document patient signs and symptoms in the medical record
- Prepare and maintain treatment rooms for patient examinations
- Provide basic first aid as needed
- Perform basic laboratory procedures and/or collect routine laboratory specimens within scope of practice
- Assist patients with ambulation and the use of assistive devices
- Participate in individualized patient care plans in collaboration with the healthcare team
- Maintain complete, accurate, and timely patient records
- Ensure a safe, clean, and organized work environment in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Adhere to infection control standards, hospital policies, and departmental procedures
- Monitor equipment functionality and assist with inventory management
- Adapt to change and support workplace initiatives in a positive and professional manner
- Work irregular or extended hours as required
- Wear personal protective equipment (PPE) as directed
- Perform other duties as assigned
