About The Position

Certified Medical Assistants are essential to delivering whole-person care to our patients within our Cardiology Clinic. We offer a Medical Assistant Clinical Ladder to support growth and development within our connected system, as well as a specialized path for those dedicated to cardiac care. Our Medical Assistants, especially those in our Cardiology Clinic, are highly valued team members with an important voice in this organization. Our MAs, in partnership with clinic staff and operations, created a structured approach to a more effective, efficient workaround that maintains appropriate workloads and provides a clearer path for professional development. In addition, we've established one of the first-ever MA Apprenticeship programs in partnership with an accredited local college to educate and prepare future MAs for success, including those aspiring to specialize in cardiology. This role supports the healthcare team and the patient/family by identifying and meeting their physical, emotional, and spiritual needs. You will promote the patient's optimal health, well-being, and safety in accordance with patient care standards, guidelines, and the delegation of medical services as defined by the State Medical Practice Act, with a special focus on the unique needs of cardiology patients. You may perform a variety of clinical tasks as directed by an authorized health care provider in accordance with our Physician Group Scope of Practice. This will include assisting with cardiac-specific procedures, preparing patients for ECGs, stress tests, and other cardiovascular assessments, and providing education related to heart health. You may also assist with front-office duties and test and/or patient appointment scheduling, including coordination of cardiac specialist visits and diagnostic imaging. MAs are responsible for accurate chart documentation and medical record maintenance, ensuring all cardiac patient information is meticulously recorded. You will also attend/conduct in-service presentations and seminars to facilitate personal and professional growth, demonstrating personal accountability for relationship-based care, organizational mission, and core values, particularly as they relate to cardiovascular health.
