This role involves performing a wide variety of laboratory procedures requiring independent judgment using both manual and automated methods in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and any other discipline as introduced into the laboratory. The individual must adhere to CLIA regulations, laboratory procedures for specimen handling and analysis, and quality control policies. Responsibilities include performing and documenting instrument maintenance, reviewing test result accuracy, recognizing age-specific differences in results, and ensuring proper handling of proficiency testing samples. The role may also involve venipuncture or capillary puncture, assisting in policy development, and adhering to safety and infection control procedures. Depending on the absence of a supervisor, the individual may be assigned Lead Tech responsibilities. Additional tasks may be assigned by management.
