About The Position

This position is responsible for adhering to safety standards, identifying, responding to, and reporting malfunctions and/or alarms. The role involves performing efficacy and quality testing for all processes and equipment, including manual and mechanical cleaning according to manufacturer's instructions for use (IFU) for various types of instrumentation. The technician will perform flexible scope processing utilizing High Level Disinfection (HLD), determine and prepare necessary supplies for assembly, and inspect, assemble, and check general and specialty instruments for cleanliness and functionality using count sheets. Packaging and labeling of instrumentation according to standards is also a key responsibility. The role requires safely determining sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance, with verification and documentation of the sterilization process. This includes performing high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Certified Sterile Processing Technician (CSPDT) or Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) required.

  • Determines, prepares, and uses supplies required in the assembly process.
  • Identifies, inspects, assembles general & specialty instruments checking for cleanliness & functionality utilizing count sheets.
  • Packages and labels instrumentation following standards.
  • Safely determines sterilization equipment functionality, operation, monitoring, and maintenance with verification and documentation of sterilization process.
  • Performs high temperature (steam) and low temperature (gas plasma, ethylene oxide, liquid chemical) sterilization.
