About The Position

INTEGRIS Health is seeking a full-time Certified Instrument Tech at INTEGRIS Health Hospital in Edmond, Oklahoma. The role works a mid-shift schedule from 1300 to 2130, with call responsibilities. The Instrument Technician decontaminates, assembles, and sterilizes instruments and instrument sets; maintains sterilization records and charts; monitors and replenishes supplies; and supports instrument replacement and repair. The role also assists with employee onboarding and competency reviews, coordinates vendor trays, and verifies that trays required for scheduled surgeries are available and sterile.

Requirements

Hold one of the following certifications: HSPA-CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician), HSPA-CIS (Certified Instrument Specialist), HSPA-CER (Certified Endoscope Reprocessor), or CBSPD-CSPDT (Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician).
Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.

Nice To Haves

Two years of experience preparing and sterilizing surgical instruments and supplies.
Two years of experience working with specialty instrument sets, such as cardiovascular, robotic, trauma, or vascular sets.

Responsibilities

Rapidly decontaminate instruments for turnover procedures and assemble instrument sets according to count sheets.
Complete sterilization processes and maintain records of cleaning for department steam sterilizers.
Assemble and maintain sterilization charts for steam sterilizers, automated reprocessors, and low-temperature sterilizers.
Review inventory and order and restock supplies needed for autoclaving processes.
Determine when routine instruments need replacement and initiate repairs and purchase orders with director approval.
Assist with onboarding and education of new employees and participate in annual competency reviews.
Contact vendors to ensure the correct vendor trays arrive at the facility in time for sterilization.
Check the surgery schedule to verify that required trays are at the facility and sterile.
