About The Position

The Certified Home Health/Hospice Aide (CHHA) works under the supervision of
an RN or therapist, providing personal care services to support patient comfort
and independence. The CHHA documents patient observations, reports changes
promptly, and supports continuity and safety in patient care.

Requirements

• Experience providing personal care in Home Health and/or Hospice
• Ability to work independently in the field and maintain professionalism in patient homes
• Strong interpersonal, communication, and documentation skills
• Demonstrated competency with equipment and technology used for patient care
• Knowledge of infection control protocols
• Ability to work with diverse patient populations
• Must demonstrate empathy, calm demeanor, and comfort supporting the terminally ill
• Minimum 75 hours classroom & supervised practical training
• 16 hours classroom + 16 hours mandatory practical training minimum
• Active Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in California – in good standing
• Current BLS
• Registered on the Home Care Aide Registry (CA DSS – Home Care Services Bureau)
• Valid driver’s license + insured, reliable vehicle.
• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
