About The Position

The Certified Home Health / Hospice Aide (CHHA) is a paraprofessional member of the home health and hospice care team and works under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Therapist. The CHHA provides personal care services to patients in their homes to meet individual needs, promote comfort, and support quality of life.

This is a 13-week assignment providing leave-of-absence coverage in Newport Beach, California. The work involves patient home visits and is field-based, with local travel required. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Compensation is $15.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Ability to work effectively with a diverse patient population.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written.
• Patient and family sensitivity, with a non-judgmental, empathetic approach.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in good standing in the State of California.
• Current BLS certification.
• Registration in good standing on the Home Care Aide Registry of the California Department of Social Services, Home Care Services Bureau.
• Valid California driver’s license.
• Reliable automobile insured according to state and organizational requirements and in good working order.

Responsibilities

• Assist patients with personal care needs to promote comfort and safety.
• Observe patient condition and promptly report changes to the supervising clinician.
• Accurately document care provided and patient observations.
