About The Position

Meadow Lakes, a Springpoint Senior Living Community in East Windsor, New Jersey, is seeking a full-time Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA). The position includes an 11 p.m.–7 a.m. shift and weekend 7 a.m.–3 p.m. shifts. CHHAs provide care and assistance with activities of daily living according to each patient’s care plan, helping patients remain in their residence. Under the direction of licensed professional staff, the CHHA monitors and records patient conditions and provides support and companionship.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid New Jersey Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) license.

Responsibilities

• Observe patients’ general health, progress, and unusual health issues; maintain daily records and share information with family or a supervisor.
• Guide patients in simple prescribed exercises according to their care plans.
• Assist patients with transfers, including to and from beds, baths, and wheelchairs.
• Assist with bathing, skin care, grooming, dressing, and undressing.
• Maintain records of patient care, condition, progress, and problems; report and discuss observations with a supervisor.
• Change bed linens and clean patients’ quarters.
• Entertain, converse with, or read aloud to patients to support their mental health and alertness.
• Provide emotional support as needed.
• Serve meals according to prescribed diets and patient requests, and clean up after meals in the home as needed.
• Encourage, transport, or accompany patients to recreational activity programs.
