About The Position

Eligibility for this role is limited to students currently enrolled in or attending to enroll in the Premier Health Wright State University Nursing Academy program. Participants must be a current or intending Wright State University nursing student, work part-time at Premier Health/Fidelity Health Care (24 hours per pay period) while attending Wright State University full-time as a nursing student (12 credit hours minimum), qualify for in-state tuition, satisfy all Premier Health/Fidelity Health Care pre-employment requirements, and complete courses to receive tuition assistance from Premier Health. Participants are financially responsible for payment of any Wright State University educational fees not attributable to a completed course. To remain eligible for the program, participants must remain in good standing at both Premier Health/Fidelity Health Care and Wright State University. The WSU Academy Certified Aide Float is a paraprofessional member of the health care team who works under the supervision of a licensed nurse to perform basic nursing tasks as assigned. This is a float position to cover skilled and private home care patient needs. This caregiver may also provide physical and mental support for the patient, perform light housekeeping and meal preparation, and provides companionship and personal care.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Home Care Aide Certificate
  • CNA or STNA
  • CPR Certification
  • 1 - 3 years of job-related experience
  • Must have completed a basic aide training program and possess a Certificate of Course Completion or have one year hospital or skilled nursing home experience. The basic aide training program must meet OBRA 87 requirements.
  • Must also complete the written portion of the competency evaluation with a score of 70%25 or greater.
  • Agency must complete competencies.
  • Must display good physical and emotional health and be capable of stooping, bending and lifting up to 50 lbs.
  • Should demonstrate good personal hygiene.
  • Must be self-directed with the ability to work with little direct supervision and have the maturity necessary for establishing and maintaining a good work relationship with the patient, the patient's family and all other office personnel.
  • Must have a sincere interest in and sympathetic attitude toward caring for the sick and disabled at home.
  • Must meet all agency personnel policies and have reliable transportation.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work in the U.S. without current or future employer-sponsorship needs.

Responsibilities
