Requirements

  • Certified GM Diesel Technician (GM ASEP, GM TST, or equivalent certification)
  • Minimum 3+ years of diesel technician experience, preferably working with GM diesel platforms
  • Advanced knowledge of diesel engine diagnostics and repair procedures
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, fuel systems, turbo systems, and engine performance troubleshooting
  • Ability to read wiring diagrams, service manuals, and technical repair schematics
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with exceptional attention to detail
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose, repair, and maintain GM diesel engines and related systems
  • Perform repairs on fuel systems, turbochargers, emissions systems, exhaust systems, cooling systems, and drivability concerns
  • Complete routine maintenance including oil changes, fluid services, filter replacements, brake inspections, and scheduled maintenance services
  • Identify and resolve advanced electrical, mechanical, and performance-related issues using GM diagnostic systems and specialized equipment
  • Conduct engine performance testing and evaluate drivetrain, electrical, and emission systems to ensure factory-level performance standards
  • Accurately document repairs, labor operations, parts usage, and warranty-related repairs while maintaining manufacturer compliance standards
  • Work closely with service advisors, parts personnel, and fellow technicians to maintain efficient shop productivity and outstanding customer service
  • Maintain a clean work environment while following all dealership safety procedures and manufacturer guidelines
  • Stay current on GM factory training, diesel technology updates, recalls, service bulletins, and certification requirements
