About The Position

Seeking a Full-Time Certified English Teacher for the 2026-2027 school year. This role involves instructing assigned clients by developing a structured classroom environment to promote intellectual, emotional, and social growth. The teacher will plan and implement instructional programs for clients with emotional and behavioral disorders, adhering to the Georgia Department of Education standards and each student's Individual Education Program (IEP). The curriculum follows the Gwinnett County Public Schools platform and Georgia Standards of Excellence. The facility operates a 24-bed Child Caring Institution (Group Home) for victimized youths aged 12-17, with a modified school schedule that includes additional teaching days during Fall and Winter Breaks, and 15 days during May/June for Summer Enrichment. Unlike some districts, staff are expected to report to work during inclement weather.

Requirements

  • Must be 21+
  • Valid Driver's License
  • Bachelor's degree, Master's preferred.
  • Georgia Teaching certification: English certification 6-12, Special Education Teaching Certification SPED preferred
  • Two (2) years teaching experience preferred
  • Must complete initial new hire paid training: 2 weeks M-F, 8:30a - 5:30p located in Kennesaw, GA
  • Must pass a thorough background check process.
  • Must be able to report to work during inclement weather.

  • Master's degree preferred.
  • Special Education Teaching Certification SPED preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and implement educational instruction and services in accordance with GA Dept of Education and as required by each student's Individual Education Program (IEP).
  • Follow the district and state curriculum.
  • Maintain the physical, emotional well-being and safety of all students.
  • Provide instruction in unique programs that go beyond basic academic curriculum, such as: art therapy, animal care therapy, yoga, drama, life-skills and more.
