About The Position

EVA Green Power is a leading commercial solar energy installer in California, specializing in rooftop systems, ground mount systems, carport and shade structures, EV Chargers, and Battery Energy Storage Systems. As part of the Franklin Energy team, EVA Green Power is seeking a commercial Certified Journeyman Electrician to install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair electrical systems in commercial and industrial settings. This role involves working directly with electrical components such as wiring, inverters, switchboards, ACCP, lighting, and other miscellaneous machines or electronics. The position requires ensuring all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations, and involves leading or assisting apprentices while ensuring adherence to safety procedures. The role also includes inspecting components for safety and code compliance, upgrading existing electrical systems, and serving as the principal company representative for onsite operations during construction. This includes ensuring all materials comply with project plans, specifications, laws, permits, utility requirements, and codes, including the National Electric Code. The electrician will install all components of solar projects and use various devices for testing and diagnostics.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED (required)
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and repairing electrical issues such as faulty wiring, malfunctioning circuits and equipment failure
  • Experience using tools such as wire strippers, receptacle testers and cable cutters
  • Ability to read blueprints to understand a structure’s electrical setup
  • Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
  • Attention to detail to make precise, accurate measurements
  • Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and electrical testing equipment.
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid Journeyman Electrician license (CA state-specific)
  • Completion of a certified electrical apprenticeship program
  • Forklift certified, or willing to become certified.

Responsibilities

  • Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, equipment, and fixtures
  • Ensure all work complies with National Electrical Code (NEC), state, and local regulations
  • Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical drawings
  • Troubleshoot electrical issues using testing devices and diagnostic tools
  • Install and maintain panels, breakers, conduits, transformers, and control systems
  • Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance
  • Lead or assist apprentices and ensure adherence to safety procedures
  • Inspecting components, including wiring and electrical products, to ensure they’re safe and within the required code
  • Upgrading existing electrical systems to enhance performance, reduce utility costs and ensure safety
  • Diagnosing and repairing electrical issues such as faulty wiring, malfunctioning circuits and equipment failure
  • Installing all components of solar projects to include modules, inverters, electrical collection lines, access roadways, carport, lighting etc., in accordance with all applicable documents and agreements.
  • Using various devices, including ammeters, voltmeters, thermal scanners, and cable testers, as well as hand and power tools
  • Installing or replacing wiring, lighting, electrical controls, breakers, and other electrical devices
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment in accordance with company and OSHA safety standards.
