About The Position

The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for overseeing Health Center food service activities and providing the level of supervision necessary to ensure the courteous and efficient service of quality and nutritious foods while ensuring compliance with local, state and federal regulations.

Requirements

  • Must be a Certified Dietary Manager or actively working on Certification
  • A minimum of two years supervisory experience in food service operations, with a strong preference for experience in health care institutions.
  • Ability to communicate with, understand, empathize with, work with and be tolerant of residents, families, visitors, peers, supervisors, and subordinates.

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Performs the planning, scheduling and supervising of Health Center personnel.
  • Assists in developing menus, assessing preferences and nutritional needs.
  • Maintains pertinent and appropriate records, reports, schedules and studies as required by local, state and federal regulations and otherwise requested.
  • Oversees ordering from approved vendors to ensure execution of menus with assistance of Sous Chef.
  • Maintains current and accurate individual diet information in tray card system and other applicable nourishment lists.
  • Attends QAPI, Resident Council, Leadership and other meetings as assigned and takes notes as required.
  • Develops and implements monthly in-services for Dining Services staff focusing on food and physical safety, Extraordinary Impressions and emergent issues related to kitchen inspections.
  • Supervises the appearance of community dining room tables, including table linens, napkins, silverware, table setup, centerpieces, etc.
  • Exhibits behaviors that support the hospitality promises and a positive work environment, encompassing all levels of care on the GVS campus. Promotes and adheres to residents rights and elder care. Shows respect and dignity in all interactions with residents, resident families, and employees.
