The Certified Dietary Manager is responsible for compliance with all aspects of the Nutrition Services Department including code compliance, sanitation, and infection control, meal preparation, and service, dining experience, purchasing systems, budgetary performance, and residents' nutritional status. Evaluates and directs plans for improvement in each aspect. Assists in planning, organizing, and enforcing systems to meet facility standards. Follows all facility policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Successful completion of the Association of Nutrition & Foodservice Professionals (ANFP) examination and maintenance of an active CDM, CFPP credential.
  • Ability to work weekends, holidays, and other shifts as needed.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Must meet all health requirements, as required by law.
  • Demonstrates basic computer knowledge and the aptitude to learn company applications.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated mathematical and numerical skills.
  • Intermediate level computer proficiency with commonly used applications.

Responsibilities

  • Supervises all dietary department staff, including cooks, dietary aides, and other assigned personnel.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to food service operations, infection prevention, resident rights, and nutrition services
  • Participates in interdisciplinary team meetings and collaborates with nursing, therapy, activities, and administration to support resident-centered care
  • Tastes and smells food to determine quality and palatability.
  • Relates positively, effectively, and appropriately with residents, families, community members, volunteers, and other center staff.
  • Demonstrates a special interest in and positive attitude toward working with long-term care residents and older adults.
  • Supervises, coaches, and develops dietary staff to ensure excellent customer service, regulatory compliance, and resident satisfaction.
