About The Position

Under the general direction of a physician (Cardiologist/Radiologist), the Certified Cath Lab/IR Technologist assists with diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures performed in the cardiovascular lab. The technologist may scrub procedures or monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data, prepares the procedure room, and monitors instrument and supply par levels. The role also includes assisting with invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures, participating in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities, and training new staff.

Requirements

• ARRT-R and a license as required by the state, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS) certification.
• BCLS (AHA) certification required upon hire and must be maintained.
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required within 30 days of hire.
• Proficient computer skills.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in a Cardiovascular Lab.
• Cardiovascular technologist training program with emphasis in invasive cardiology and hemodynamic monitoring.

Responsibilities

• Scrub procedures or monitor physiologic and hemodynamic data during diagnostic and/or therapeutic cardiovascular lab procedures.
• Ensure the procedure room is adequately prepared for procedures.
• Monitor par levels of instruments and supplies.
• Participate in departmental staff meetings and performance improvement activities.
• Participate in training new staff.
• Assist in all aspects of invasive and noninvasive cardiac procedures.
