About The Position

Aurora Medical Center - Summit in Wisconsin is seeking a Certified Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA) to join a highly collaborative anesthesia team supporting patient care across a variety of surgical specialties. This position offers a competitive compensation range, no call responsibilities, no weekends, and no holidays required. The role involves a 5 x 8-hour shift schedule with rotation through two ambulatory surgery center locations, operating under the ACT Practice Model. Guaranteed additional shift opportunities with premiums are available, along with 30 days of PTO and 40 CME hours annually with a $2,250 CME allowance.

Requirements

  • Anesthesiologist Assistant license issued by the state of Wisconsin
  • Anesthesiologist Assistant (AA-C) certification issued by the National Commission for Certification of Anesthesiologist Assistants (NCCAA) needs to be obtained within 18 months
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support certification (ACLS) issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA) needs to be obtained within 6 months unless department leader has determined it is not required
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA)/American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP)
  • Master's Degree in Anesthesia
  • No experience required. Experienced AAs and new grads are welcome to apply.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver anesthesia care under the medical direction of an anesthesiologist within the ACT model.
  • Perform patient evaluations and assist with anesthesia planning.
  • Monitor physiologic status before, during, and after procedures.
  • Assist with airway management and perioperative care.
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, nurses, and procedural teams.
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation.
  • Support safe, patient-centered care throughout the perioperative experience.
