About The Position

This position is responsible for completing annual and interim recertifications, public housing and tax-credit paperwork, applications, and other office duties. The role is a Clerical Bargaining Unit position and is non-exempt. The Hilltop department consists of public housing units as well as tax credit units, and may require some level of Management Aide job duties in addition to the Certification Application Specialist duties. Knowledge and experience in public housing, including a public housing program certification, will be considered. A public housing program certification must be obtained within one year of employment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma (or equivalent)
  • Minimum of one year clerical, data entry and/or bookkeeping experience.
  • Good math skills
  • Skilled on 10-key calculator, computer and office equipment.
  • Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and be insurable under AMHA policy.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience with federal or state eligibility certifications
  • Tax credit public housing program certification (must be obtained within one year of employment if not already certified)

Responsibilities

  • Conduct annual and interim recertifications within established time frames.
  • Prepare rent changes.
  • Schedule move-in and move-outs.
  • Prepare tax credit documentation.
  • Provide quality customer service to clients.
  • Prepare and process applications for residency.
  • Complete forms to update information as needed from previous landlords.
  • Check for possible balances from previous tenancy.
  • Perform bookkeeping and miscellaneous office work, such as verify and file information, print daily reports, enter charges and adjustments into MLS, type letters, fax documents, etc.
  • Process damage claims.
  • Answer telephone and attend to any issues.
  • Maintain work orders.
  • Perform all other secretarial duties.
  • Process collections and accounts receivables.
  • Type collection letters.
  • Assist with maintenance and housekeeping scheduling.
