About The Position

The Ceramic Development Engineer is responsible for the development and implementation of new processes and product concepts utilizing ceramic and semiconductor materials as well as participating in the activities of the Ceramic Development Department regarding short and long term objectives and plans.

Requirements

  • Experience with CAD and/or 3D modeling software including 3D Printing.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to interact and communicate effectively with highly technical staff members.

Nice To Haves

  • BS or MS in Ceramic Engineering or Material Engineering.
  • One (1) to three (3) years of experience in ceramics or materials science related fields preferably in applied research and development in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support other engineering groups in expanding product portfolio to establish new business opportunities.
  • Responsible for Development Lab green insulator prints as well as tooling prints.
  • Advise and support Ceramic Manufacturing.
  • Evaluate and interpret the physical and chemical properties of experimental production and competitive ceramic materials.
  • Performs specialized research and development activities in areas of his/her expertise.
  • Supports the Ceramic Mill Room Technician during the manufacturing of ceramic production body (as required).
  • Conduct experimental tests both on and off the premises for evaluation and/or improvement of existing materials (as required).
  • Keeps current on technical ceramic matters to provide the best possible direction and interaction with staff members.
  • Communicate factually the findings and recommendations concerning the activities of the Ceramic Development Department to his/her Engineering Manager for approval and implementation.
