Centralized Scheduler
About The Position
The Centralized Scheduler is directly accountable to the Admitting Leadership and routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event. This may include, but is not limited to; Clinic visits, Surgery, G.I. Lab, Cardiac Cath Lab, Radiology, Respiratory Therapy, Nutritional Services, Infusion units or any other location where scheduling of a test or procedure may occur. The role involves coordinating with departments, ensuring accurate patient demographics are entered into the computer system, and preparing/distributing the surgical schedule and on-call list.
Requirements
- Knowledge of medical terminology.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to multi-task, prioritize needs to meet required timelines.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Customer Services experience required.
- Strong clerical and computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Routinely schedules tests/procedure cases for all patients where services occur as a scheduled event.
- Coordinates with departments as necessary.
- Ensures that accurate, complete and thorough patient demographics are entered into the computer system, including insurance and authorizations if applicable.
- Notifies departments as necessary of various services that may require, equipment, instrumentation and supplies from outside vendors for scheduled surgeries.
- Prepares and distributes the surgical schedule and on call list to appropriate departments or personnel.
