The Central Sterile Technician is responsible for maintaining a professional image and exhibiting excellent customer relations to patients, visitors, physicians, and co-workers in accordance with our Service Excellence Standards and Core Values. The role requires the ability to work as a team member, communicate directly and professionally, and be reliable, flexible, productive, self-motivated, and patient-oriented. The technician must maintain professional conduct and appearance and follow (IFU) instructions for cleaning, sterilization, and storage of surgical instruments, including all vendor trays and McLeod medical offices and internal departments that perform minor procedures using reusable surgical instruments. The position involves operating a variety of sterilization equipment, cleaning and maintaining department work areas, and donning appropriate PPE before entering the decontamination room or handling contaminated equipment. Other duties as assigned. The role requires interpersonal skills to work under stressful situations and the ability to maintain detailed records of sterilization procedures, equipment maintenance, and supplies.
