The Operating room is a collaborative team of surgeons, anesthesia, technologists, and registered nurses. There is a one to one patient ratio. Numerous specialties including robotics, cardiovascular, orthopedics, plastics, OB-GYNE, neuro, urology, and trauma. All employees are expected to be proficient in each specialty; however, you will be in the specialty you prefer most of the time after orientation. A huge perk is getting to know the surgeons here and being able to request them to care for family members etc.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• A Registered CRCST or currently enrolled in a Program for Surgical Technologists.
• CPR

Responsibilities

• Assist with decontamination, cleaning and sterilization for all surgical trays according to AORN, OSHA and AAMI and IAHCSMM Standards.
• Assists with regulatory documentation regarding sterilization (includes sterilizers and instruments).
• Possesses knowledge regarding the proper handling and caring of surgical instruments.
