Requirements

  • Entry level position.
  • Demonstrated potential ability to perform the essential functions as outlined above.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of equipment cleaning and disinfecting techniques.
  • Demonstrated problem solving skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Successful completion of the HSPA CRCST (Certified Registered Central Service Technician) Training, or the equivalency within first year of employment.
  • Two (2) or more years of leadership experience.
  • Two (2) or more years of experience as a central processing technician.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares instruments and/or equipment to be cleaned and disinfected and distributes to departments, labs and clinics.
  • Cleans and disinfects instruments and/or equipment and checks biologicals.
  • Maintains inventory, orders and stocks supplies.
  • Manages department requests for Central Service supplies and schedules and tracks instrument and/or equipment use.
  • Documents patient charges for instruments and/or equipment use and cart supplies.
  • Ensures that safety inspections, calibrations and preventive maintenance are completed prior to scheduled expiration dates.
  • Assists in training new employees and central service technicians.
