The Central Scheduler is responsible for interacting professionally with patients, providers, and co-workers, managing a multiline phone system, and assessing caller needs to ensure appropriate action or direction. This role involves accurately preparing and routing messages within the Electronic Medical Record (EMR) system, scheduling appointments according to physician templates, and obtaining necessary new patient information. The scheduler will also notify patients of appointment changes, log into NCIR to print shot records upon request, and maintain knowledge of accepted insurance plans. A key part of the role includes verifying and updating patient demographic and insurance information, communicating payment expectations according to company policy, and ensuring continuous coverage of the area and telephone by coordinating breaks and lunches. The position requires adherence to all company protocols and procedures, maintaining HIPAA and OSHA compliance, and performing other assigned duties.
