About The Position

This role involves managing the dispatch calendar and daily dispatch activities, including availability and time approval, dispatching the closest trucks, and converting opportunities to sales requests. The Central Dispatcher will also be responsible for answering the central dispatch phone line professionally and processing requests from existing customers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1-2 years dispatch experience, preferred
• Excellent communication skills to collaborate with others under any type of condition
• Excellent clerical and organizational skills to keep track of schedules, routes, and personnel
• Knowledge of computers for scheduling and other dispatching duties
• Ability to multitask with different, and sometimes conflicting, events happening at the same time
• Ability to work under stress and remain calm and to calm other people during rapidly changing circumstances
• Ability to relay information in a fast-paced environment

Nice To Haves

• Oracle Field Operations module preferred

Responsibilities

• Manages dispatch calendar (Google calendar, etc.)
• Manages daily dispatch activities (availability and time approval by Branch Manager (BM), dispatching closest trucks, etc.)
• Converts opportunities to sales requests (SR) and confirms with owner (Outside Sales Representative (OSR), General Manager (GM), or Branch Manager (BM))
• Answers central dispatch phone line in a timely and professionally
• Processes requests from existing (standard) customers
