About The Position

GSD is seeking a Central American Partnerships Specialist to cultivate vital regional relationships and support capacity-strengthening projects. This role acts as a crucial link between the GSD team and regional networks, managing day-to-day engagement and updating relationship frameworks. The ideal candidate will possess cultural fluency, exceptional coordination skills, and a commitment to maintaining high standards of integrity while working alongside local communities to build resilience.

Requirements

  • Three (3) or more years of progressive work experience in partner/stakeholder management, preferably in the Central American context, involving partnership identification, outreach, and cultivation.
  • Administrative and coordination experience, ideally with an NGO.
  • Experience implementing or supporting donor-funded projects to advance rapid response and resilience.
  • Management of events and partner-facing initiatives.
  • Experience living and working in the Central American region.
  • Proficiency in MS Office suite and Google suite.
  • BA in international affairs, communications, marketing, public relations or related field; or Equivalent combination of relevant experience and training.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Spanish and/or French is required.

Nice To Haves

  • Project or program management experience is desired.
  • Knowledge of Salesforce is an advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation of the outreach strategy for Central America, collaborating with internal stakeholders including the Director of Partnerships and Programs, the Central American Partnerships Manager, Response, Capabilities, and Maritime teams.
  • Research and monitor humanitarian, rapid response, and community resilience trends to ensure GSD’s partnership proposition remains compelling and relevant.
  • Build and maintain active readiness for Disaster Response Team (DRT) members, requiring deployment to sudden onset natural disasters within GSD's Area of Operations.
  • Facilitate the management of existing partnership relationships, including day-to-day planning, engagement, meeting minutes, administrative tasks, and updating the relationship management plan.
  • Support stakeholder mapping and other initiatives to identify and develop new partnerships.
  • Conduct research and provide briefing materials to engage and vet potential partner organizations, and develop country profiles.
  • Support the coordination of GSD’s partner engagement activities to promote the organization's services, including philanthropic actions.
  • Provide administrative assistance to partnership and program activities, including scheduling meetings, capturing notes, logistics support, pre-trip briefings and debriefings, and attendance/registration.
  • Help facilitate internal GSD and external partner-focused communication, including updates on relationship development, engagement opportunities, outcomes, and annual impacts.
  • Maintain updated Customer Relationship Management (CRM) records for partner portfolios.
  • Support the drafting of success stories for internal and external audiences and lessons learned.
  • Promptly act on GSD’s core values of accountability, humility, and integrity in all work.
  • Promote good stewardship of financial and other resources to achieve maximum benefit for those impacted by disaster or at risk of impact.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
