Requirements

Be educated and currently certified or licensed in the state of employment, in accordance with state requirements, as a Registered Nurse, Licensed Practical Nurse, Licensed Vocational Nurse, Paramedic, or EMT.
Current CPR certification is required.
Ability to communicate information and ideas clearly and understand spoken information and instructions.
Ability to work independently and follow oral or written instructions.
Ability to perform a wide range of tasks as demands and conditions change.
Ability to communicate sensitive information to diverse groups.
Hearing acuity is essential.
Color perception and discrimination, near vision, and far vision correctable in one eye to 20/30 and in the other eye to 20/100.
Able to lift up to 15 pounds routinely and a maximum of 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

Perform physical examinations and establish medical histories to determine donor suitability.
Build rapport with donors to support overall customer satisfaction.
Maintain donor and staff confidentiality.
Inform donors about potential hazards.
Provide donor education regarding general health and counsel donors about unacceptable test results.
Evaluate and manage donor injuries and adverse events.
Evaluate donor histories of illness and medication use to ensure continued suitability.
Assist in employee training.
Administer the employee Hepatitis Vaccine program.
