About The Position

Krause Funeral Home is accepting expressions of interest from experienced, caring, and dedicated Family Service Advisors for future openings. Candidates who register their interest may be contacted when suitable opportunities become available. The position sells cemetery services, property, merchandise, and pre-need funeral services and inventory in accordance with sales-management goals. Sales are made both at-need and preneed. The role also provides client-family services in support of its primary outside-sales responsibilities.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid state-issued driver's license with a clear driving record.
Ability to travel independently.

Nice To Haves

Formal training in business or a business-related area is strongly preferred.
Experience in commissioned sales is strongly preferred.
Insurance license, or ability to obtain one, depending on the funding mechanism for the product sold.

Responsibilities

Sell company pre-arranged funeral contracts, cemetery property, and merchandise in accordance with established sales objectives and procedures.
Make advance-of-need sales and arrange funding for prearrangements, including cash and installment sales.
Complete contracts and other documents required to provide sales and customer service in accordance with company policies.
Develop personal sales leads through personal contacts, telephone solicitation, family follow-ups, and group marketing activities such as direct mail, media, mall kiosks, or home show booths.
Set appointments and make presentations in prospective client family homes to sell prearrangements.
Attend visitations, funerals, and interment services of client families.
Attend sales meetings and group sales activities as directed.
Provide client family services that support the primary outside-sales responsibility.
Maintain records of personal sales activity and performance results in the manner prescribed by the company.
Refer deviations from prescribed policies or procedures to sales management, including deviations involving prices, credit, discounts, contract terms, or conditions of sale.
