Cemetery Grounds
About The Position
The Cemetery Groundskeeper at Everstory Partners is responsible for caring for, maintaining, and repairing cemetery property while supporting the safety and security of employees and visitors. The role requires a dedicated, reliable, hard-working individual with attention to detail and a commitment to providing a high level of customer service. Duties include landscape maintenance, equipment upkeep, work related to funeral services, safe operation of machinery, installation of cemetery vaults and headstones or memorials, general maintenance, and snow removal where applicable. The position also involves completing other duties assigned by the Grounds Superintendent. The role requires a high school equivalency, at least two years of maintenance or related experience, the ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery, and a valid state driver’s license. The employee must be able to lift up to 80 pounds and be available to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Requirements
- High school equivalency required.
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance or a related field.
- Ability to operate maintenance equipment and machinery.
- Ability to read and carry out memos and directives from a supervisor and/or management.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple tasks with interruptions.
- Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lift up to 80 pounds.
- Valid state driver’s license required.
- Availability to work some holidays, evenings, and weekends as needed.
Responsibilities
- Perform landscape maintenance, including weed-whacking and lawn mowing.
- Maintain equipment.
- Perform functions related to funeral services.
- Operate machinery safely and appropriately.
- Install or assist in installing cemetery vaults.
- Install headstones or memorials as needed.
- Handle day-to-day general maintenance duties.
- Perform snow removal, if applicable.
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Grounds Superintendent.
- Support the safety and security of employees and visitors at the location.
