About The Position

Essex Cement Company, a subsidiary of Titan America, has an excellent opportunity for a Cement Sales Representative. The Sales Representative is responsible for the promotion and sale of cement products within our market region by maintaining and growing the current customer base. This position reports to the Sales Manager. The territory is the NY 5 Boroughs and Long Island.

Requirements

Minimum three years proven sales success required.
Must have a positive attitude, be a self-starter and possess good problem-solving skills.
Must have a valid driver’s license and maintain an excellent driving record.
Driving record must be acceptable to company insurance requirements; local knowledge of the region.
Strong interpersonal, communication, negotiation and reasoning skills with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
General knowledge of construction materials industry.
Highly motivated, able to quickly build and maintain positive working relationships.
Capability to learn and communicate cement product information.
Good planning and time management skills; demonstrated self-starting behaviors.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint).
Strong mathematical ability.
Willingness to devote time necessary to accomplish strategic goals and objectives.
Adaptable to change.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor’s degree preferred
Specific knowledge of cement a plus

Responsibilities

Attain sales goals for territory volume, selling price, and market share for cement and package product/masonry cement.
Forecast customer and market demand.
Resolve customer problems and concerns in a timely and effective manner.
Collaborate to improve marketing, promotion, pricing, service, credit and logistics.
Promote company brand and overall marketing strategies.
Create demand and sell organization’s products to potential customers and prospects.
Proactively recommend and implement actions to maintain our position in the market.
Develop actions plans and create objectives and goals to meet company targets.
Collaborate with customers as a supplier and strategic business partner.
