About The Position

The Cement Quarter Lining Operator works in the fitting department, applying adhesives to boot quarter linings and uppers and joining them accurately for subsequent fitting, lasting, or stitching operations. The operator receives cut components from the cutting or preparation area and prepares, cements, aligns, bonds, and inspects pieces according to work tickets, pattern marks, material requirements, and production specifications. The position requires careful handling of leather and lining materials, even application of the correct adhesive by brush, roller, or cementing machine, and adherence to drying and tack times. The operator checks materials and finished work for defects, excess adhesive, wrinkles, bubbles, folds, and misalignment; separates or reports defective work; and passes completed pieces to the next operation. The operator also records production, meets daily quotas while maintaining Lucchese quality standards, cares for equipment, follows adhesive-handling and PPE requirements, and maintains an organized, safe workstation. The role collaborates with supervisors, quality control, and production colleagues and may assist with related fitting work as production needs require.
