About The Position

Mortenson is currently seeking a Cement Mason Foreman that will be responsible for supervising and coordinating activities of crew engaged in smoothing and finishing surfaces of poured concrete floors, walls, sidewalks, or curbs to specified textures. Ensure quality and safety on each task.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum five (5) years of related experience
  • Must have passed Apprentice Aptitude Test
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety regulations, operation and maintenance instructions, blueprints and schematic drawings, and procedure manuals; ability to use appropriate tools including but not limited to: trowel, brush, bull float, screed, skid saw, transit, chipping gun, and grinders
  • Strong teamwork orientation, positive attitude, professional customer service skills, detail orientation, knowledge of equipment and their uses, basic mathematical skills (adding, subtracting, division, & multiplication), active listening skills, and effective communication including openness to diverse input and feedback
  • Repetitive hand, arm, leg movements
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling: up to 50 lbs.
  • Lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling over 50 lbs will be done with assistance of another team member or equipment.
  • Must be currently legally authorized to work in the U.S. without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status, 0-1, TN, CPT, OPT, etc.). We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa at this time.

Responsibilities

  • Establish and adjust work sequences to meet schedule, using knowledge of capacities of equipment and assigned personnel
  • Form concrete slab on grade
  • Install edge forms
  • Set screeds to ensure level surface
  • Grind and patch required areas in concrete
  • Set up laser and screeds for pre-concrete pour
  • Direct operations during concrete pour
  • Analyze and resolve work issues
  • Ensure crew timecards are filled out and turned in
  • Effectively work and build relationships with those of diverse backgrounds and organizational levels
  • Lead team members by example, offer effective coaching and feedback, and effectively manage performance
  • All other duties as assigned
