CELLULAR THERAPY NURSE COORDINATOR

Moffitt Cancer Center
•$45 - $69

About The Position

The Cellular Therapy Nurse Coordinator I (CTNC I) is an experienced registered nurse who serves as the primary nurse in an outpatient setting for an assigned population of patients in Moffitt’s Blood and Marrow Transplant and Cellular Immunotherapy Program (BMTCI). Patients may have cancer, sickle cell disease, or other conditions requiring bone marrow transplantation or cellular immunotherapy, and may be followed from initial consultation through long-term follow-up and survivorship care. Under the mentorship of a Cellular Therapy Nurse Coordinator II and other department mentors, the CTNC I progressively develops the ability to coordinate care independently within an assigned patient care team. The role coordinates the patient experience across the phases of autologous and allogeneic transplantation, donor workup, and chimeric antigen receptor (CAR) or other immunotherapies. Work includes coordinating evaluations and vital-organ testing, insurance authorizations, cellular collection, manufacturing and product delivery, admission dates, and follow-up care. The coordinator works with related and unrelated donors, national donor organizations, outside pharmaceutical companies, and Moffitt teams to support patient and donor readiness and alignment. The CTNC I also works in clinic, performs ongoing assessments and nursing interventions, maintains documentation and fee charges, and provides patient and caregiver education. The role requires careful attention to detail, effective communication with patients, outside providers and the medical team, and proficiency using electronic calendars, the EHR and other applications. The coordinator follows organizational standards, regulatory guidelines, standard operating procedures, REMS training guidelines and FACT guidelines, and may participate in clinical trial activities with the BMTCI research team.
