About The Position

We are currently hiring a Full Time Temp/Seasonal Cellar Person in Walden, New York. As a Cellar Person, you'll support daily cider production operations while maintaining high safety, sanitation, and quality standards. You'll work across cellar, packaging, and cidery functions, assisting with apple processing, equipment cleaning, inventory movement, and production support. This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and is interested in learning the craft of cider making.

Requirements

  • High school diploma.
  • Forklift experience.
  • Experience in cider production, winemaking, or brewing with an interest in cider production.
  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds, including repetitive lifting.
  • Ability to stand and walk for extended periods of time, up to 11 hours per day.
  • Ability to climb stairs and work at heights or on elevated platforms.
  • Ability to step over, crouch under, or crawl beneath equipment and obstacles as needed.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical degree or certificate.
  • Formal education in Viticulture, Enology, Brewing, Fermentation Science, or a related field.
  • Forklift license.
  • 1–2 years of commercial experience in cider production, winemaking, or brewing.

Responsibilities

  • Support apple pressing operations, including equipment setup, cleaning, and teardown.
  • Operate forklifts safely to move apple bins, totes, inventory, and materials throughout the site and load or unload trucks.
  • Assist with packaging operations, including kegging, canning, and bottling products.
  • Maintain sanitation standards in assigned production areas in support of Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) requirements.
  • Troubleshoot basic utility and process equipment issues.
  • Restock materials and manage inventory movement as needed.
  • Support a positive cider-making culture and collaborate with production team members.
  • Learn cider-making fundamentals including apple processing, yeast management, fermentation, aging, cold processing, packaging, and utilities.
  • Work indoors and outdoors year-round in a cider production environment that may overlap with public tour operations.
  • Lift up to 50 pounds, stand and walk for extended periods, climb stairs and elevated platforms, and crouch or crawl as needed to perform essential job functions.
