About The Position

IMCO Carbide Tool in Perrysburg, Ohio is hiring for a Cell Technician (Burrs) in their Manufacturing department. While experience is preferred, training will be provided for the right candidate. This role requires mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and a strong work ethic. The Cell Technician is responsible for producing carbide cutting tools according to specifications and tolerances, performing in-process checks using visual and dimensional inspection, and reading blueprints. They will also be responsible for machine setup, making in-process adjustments, tracking production data, maintaining a safe and clean work area, monitoring supplies, and contributing to a team environment to meet personal and team goals. Adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures is expected, with a primary goal of ensuring all employees return home safely each day.

Requirements

High School diploma or G.E.D. required
General math skills are necessary for this position and a math test will be administered.
Ability to do hands-on work.
Effective communication skills (verbal, written).
Ability to work with a diverse environment.
Ability to adhere to a schedule on a regular basis is required.
Basic computer skills.
Mechanical aptitude.
Problem solving skills.
Reliable transportation required.
Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
Ability to safely handle the wheels, wheel packs, and tools.
Ability to follow instruction and operate a machine safely and correctly.
Flexibility of hands/fingers for handling tools, wheel parts, and for data entry purposes.
Visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses.
Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Ability to walk or otherwise ambulate.
Ability to bend or reach to retrieve materials.

Responsibilities

Producing a variety of carbide cutting tools according to specifications of prints and within tolerances required by quality standards.
Using appropriate inspection procedures (visual and dimensional) and measuring equipment.
Reading blueprints to perform in-process checks to ensure tools meet specifications and quality control standards.
Setting up machines and making in-process adjustments to ensure consistent production according to spec.
Tracking and logging job production data.
Maintaining machine and work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
Monitoring supplies and notifying Cell Lead or Supervisor when supplies are running low.
Being a contributing member of a team that cultivates a culture of mutual respect and teamwork.
Meeting both personal and team goals.
Adhering to all Safety Policies and Procedures.
