About The Position

IMCO Carbide Tool in Perrysburg, Ohio is hiring a Cell Technician (Burrs) in our Manufacturing department. While experience is preferred, training will be provided for the right candidate. This role requires mechanical aptitude, basic math skills, and a strong work ethic. As part of a team, the Cell Technician is responsible for producing carbide cutting tools according to specifications, tolerances, and quality standards. This involves using inspection procedures, measuring equipment, and reading blueprints for in-process checks. The technician will set up machines, make in-process adjustments, track production data, maintain a safe and clean work area, monitor supplies, and contribute to a team culture. Adherence to all Safety Policies and Procedures is expected, with the primary goal of ensuring all employees return home safely each day.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or G.E.D. required.
  • General math skills are necessary for this position and a math test will be administered.
  • Ability to do hands-on work.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written).
  • Ability to work with a diverse environment.
  • Ability to adhere to a schedule on a regular basis is required.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Mechanical aptitude.

  • Reliable transportation required.
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Ability to safely handle the wheels, wheel packs, and tools.
  • Ability to follow instruction and operate a machine safely and correctly.
  • Flexibility of hands/fingers for handling tools, wheel parts, and for data entry purposes.
  • Visual acuity, with or without corrective lenses.
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time.
  • Ability to walk or otherwise ambulate.
  • Ability to bend or reach to retrieve materials.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screen prior to employment.

  • Experience in manufacturing would be preferred, but WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT PERSON.

Responsibilities

  • Performing activities necessary to produce a variety of carbide cutting tools according to specifications of prints and within tolerances required by quality standards.
  • Using appropriate inspection procedures (visual and dimensional), measuring equipment, and reading blueprints to perform in-process checks to ensure tools meet specifications and quality control standards.
  • Setting up machines and making in-process adjustments to ensure tools are produced according to spec on a consistent basis.
  • Tracking / logging job production data.
  • Maintaining machine and work area in a safe, clean, and orderly manner.
  • Monitoring supplies and notifying Cell Lead or Supervisor when supplies are running low.
  • Being a contributing member of a team that cultivates a culture of mutual respect and teamwork.

  • Adhering to all Safety Policies and Procedures.
